1.
How do you define communication?
Communication is the exchange of information that occurs between two or
more individuals with the aim of providing information and receiving it.
2.
What is
the role of communication in management of business?
The role of communication is vital to achieving the objectives of
business management. With this you can keep employees informed and avoid
problems within the company.
3.
What are
the different purposes of communication? Briefly explain any five of them.
a.
for
information: Inform the individual or group about the particular task or
company policies and procedures.
b.
For evaluation:
Communication is a tool to value the individual or team, your contribution to
the organization.
c.
For
direction: Communication is necessary to issue directions by the top management
ormanager to the lower level.
d.
For
teaching: The importance of personal safety on the job has been greatly
recognized. This communication helps the workers to avert accidents, risk etc.
e.
For
influencing: The individual having potential to influence others can easily persuade
others.
4.
Discuss
the different situations when the communication exists.
It is well known that for a communication to take place, 2 or more
individuals are needed, this is reflected in daily life no matter the
situation, most of the time we are communicating.
5.
“Communication
is an exchange of facts, ideas, opinions and emotions by two or more persons.”
Explain the statement and discuss the role of feedback in communication.
In order for there to be communication, a sender is needed, who is the
one who gives the message, and in the same way, a receiver is needed, who is
the one who receives the information. If any of them were to be missing, the
communication would not take place.
6.
“Communication
is the two way process.” Explain.
Communication is a two-way process, because in it the communication
process can be observed more clearly, in which the sender sends a message
through a channel to the receiver, who receives it and sends feedback.
7.
Discuss
the elements of communication process.
a.
Sender :
Is the person who desires to convey the message. Sender initiates the message
and changes the behaviour of the receiver.
b.
Message:
It is a subject matter of any communication. It may involve any fact, idea, opinión
or information.
c.
Encoding:
The communicator of the information organises his idea into series of symbols
which, he feels will communicate to the intended receiver or receivers.
d.
Communication
channel: The sender has to select the channel for sending the information.
Communication channel is the media through which the message passes.
e.
Receiver:
The person who receives the message is called receiver. The communication
process is incomplete without the existence of receiver of the message.
f.
Decoding:
Decoding is the process of interpretation of an encoded message into the understandable
meaning. Decoding helps the receiver to drive meaning from the message.
g.
Feedback:
Communication is an exchange process. For the exchange to be complete the information
must go back to whom from where it started, so that he can know the reaction of
the receiver.
h.
Brain
drain: On whole process there is a possibility of misunderstandings at any
level and is called brain drain. It may arise on sender side if they do not
choose the adequate médium for delivery of message, by using default channel
and it may also arise when receiver does not properly decode the message.
8.
Give three
examples of brain drain in communication process.
a.
The
message can be understood in various ways, which means that the receiver can
understand an idea different from the one the sender wanted to transmit.
b.
The sender
did not use a good channel to transmit the information.
c.
The
receiver decodes the message badly, causing bad feedback.

Hi. I share the same idea about two-way process, as you explain it, in this process the feedback is sended and received for both participants. Your examples in question number eight seem to me a little bit generalized, maybe if you had used situations more specific it could have been easier to comprehend. However, you did it well.
ResponderBorrarI love your answers, the way that you explain the cuestions is amazing! We think the same.
ResponderBorrarHi Samuel. I agree, communication is a two-part process.
